AFCEA Scholarship ANNOUNCEMENTS

War Veterans Scholarship is open.  Deadline is November 15, 2019.
Gold Vault chapter of AFCEA would like to remind members that the national AFCEA Educational Foundation is now accepting applications for War Veterans Scholarships.  Merit-based scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded to persons on active duty or honorably discharged from one of the Overseas Contingency Operations. Recipients must be currently enrolled and attending classes in an undergraduate program as a sophomore or junior, part time or full time, in an eligible STEM major degree program at an accredited four year college or university in the U.S.  Deadline is November 15, 2019.

The application window for the Gold Vault Lift Off Scholarship competition has been moved forward. Applications will be posted on this web site in early December. School Guidance counselors: please contact the Chapter Scholarship VP for more information.

AFCEA Gold Vault Lift Off Scholarship

Scholarship application packages are accepted from December 15 - January 31.

Our chapter has given out over $60,000 worth of scholarships. This year we are planning a great year and would like to invite your students to apply. We have had less than 100 applicants in the past, so this is a great opportunity for local students to earn scholarships for higher education.

This year, AFCEA Ft Knox Gold Vault Chapter will award one or more $1,000 scholarships to High School students planning to major in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.

To be eligible for a scholarship, a student must be:

  • Earning a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent).

  • A senior attending High School in the Louisville Combined Statistical Area which consists of:

    • Kentucky: Bullitt, Hardin, Henry, LaRue, Oldham, Nelson, Meade, Shelby, Spencer, Trimble, or Jefferson County.

    • Indiana: Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Scott, Washington, or Jefferson County.

  • Planning to major in a course of study that will lead to Bachelors degree in one of the Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

  • A United States Citizen

AFCEA International Scholarships

AFCEA International offers scholarships for STEM related undergraduate and graduate college majors and STEM related teaching graduate degrees or postgraduate teaching credential. Afghanistan and Iraq war veterans (including active duty soldiers and honorably discharged veterans) pursuing an undergraduate degree may apply for for a war veterans scholarship.

STEM Major undergraduate candidates must be in their junior or senior year with at least a 3.0 GPA. Graduate candidates must be enrolled in their second semester with at least a 3.5 GPA with at least 2 semester courses per semester.

STEM Teacher candidates must be enrolled with a GPA of at least 3.5 in at least 2 semester courses at the time of enrollment. Senior undergraduate students enrolled in in a dual degree program will be considered on a case by case basis.

STEM War veterans candidates must be US citizens enrolled full or part time in an eligible degree program. A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 is required. Candidates must have served in Afghanistan or Iraq war.
